I will overwhelm 'legitimate boxer' Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight round fight which will be streamed in real-time on the streaming platform.
Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the two fighters confronted each other to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.
Former two-time unified boxing king Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami arena on December 19th.
Boxer's Mentality
"I'm going to injure his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35, said.
"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I will really want to injure him. That's what I want to do."
Civil Interaction
Despite those words, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically famous for his dramatics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul instead criticized ex Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.
Targeting Fury
Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized UK rival Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Opponent
Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.
Paul's History
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or faded names since turning professional.
He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
Still, the novice is still one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, regularly earning huge paydays.
Forecast and Belief
The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in rounds four or five and asserted he would prevent the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently in the works for two years from now.
"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul said.
Physical Disparity
As Joshua and Paul participated in the customary face-off, with their size difference clearly visible, it emphasized just how unlikely this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is really proceeding.
